L'univers de Marc Binninger est la réplique inversée du jardin d'Eden. Eve a été chassée du paradis, ses descendantes ont été promises au malheur. Pourtant, éternelle alliée du diable, Eve l'aide à tordre le cou à la morale, celle qui depuis la chute et l'exil loin du paradis ne cesse d'accuser les femmes de tous les maux, péchés et calamités qui se sont abattus sur le monde. Cette fois, Eve s'est révoltée, elle s'est débarrassée de la culpabilité, elle ne veut plus pleurer. Mais il y a une chose à laquelle elle ne renoncera jamais, c'est la tentation. Elle continuera à mordre dans la pomme.

"Belle, cela va sans dire" écrivait le poète. Précoce et précieux en son art, Marc Binninger est un jeune photographe d'origine allemande, comme Walter Benjamin, cet illustre écrivain juif allemand. "Ce n'est pas un hasard si le portrait a joué un rôle central aux premiers temps de la photographie. Dans le culte du souvenir dédié aux êtres chers, éloignés ou disparus, la valeur culturelle de l'image trouve son dernier refuge". Dans la mémoire et l'oubli des gens, dans un rythme de vie quotidienne, dans le banal et l'ordinaire, l'artiste recrée des scènes de vie. "It is no accident that the portrait has played a central role in the early days of photography.
